Yes, you've seen it in Garden State and Sex and the City, and yes, it is that opulent inside. The Buddha stands atop a flower-filled boat, holding court over a giant reflecting pool bordered by inset wooden booths. Backlit walls of liquor bottles and disco balls provide an electric glow over the cavernous space while shiny plastic pods add some mod flavor. During weekend nights you'll have to fight through the throngs of slickly dressed customers who spill out onto the sidewalk, waiting for a chance to listen to the DJ spinning inside. The crux of Sea Thai's appeal is the fancy atmosphere paired with a very reasonably priced array of classic Thai dishes. All of your standard curry, noodle and soup dishes are here, plus a few specialties including red snapper cooked in a spicy tamarind chili sauce and massaman curry spare ribs. If you want to avoid the crowds, come in at lunch when you can get a free appetizer with any entrée.—Keith Wagstaff
