Arriving in Chinatown late into the Shanghai fad, this place adds dishes from other regions of China to fill out its crowd-pleasing menu. Sichuan-style beef tendon in chile oil rubs elbows with Hunan orange beef and Cantonese e-fu noodles. The Shangai-style crab tiny buns (aka soup dumplings) are distinguished here, especially if you spring for the version that features crab added to the usual pork filling. Soups like West Lake beef are generously sized, braised pork shoulder in brown sauce tender and porky, and fresh seafood choices abound, among them flounder, blue crab, Dungeness crab, eel, croaker, lobster, and sea cucumber. Ahoy!
