Is this the only Thai restaurant in the Bronx? We wondered as we stumbled into the overdecorated dining room, plastered with tourism-promotion prints, dancing statuettes, and portraits of Thai royalty. The broad-ranging menu enfolds lots of regional stuff, including an excellent yum salad made with skirt steak, and toothsome fried wontons that show the Chinese side of Siamese. Siam Square is justly famous for its duck dishes made from boneless pressed duck, but we thought ped sam ros, in a chile-garlic sauce, was way too sweet. Desserts such as homemade pandanus (a/k/a screwpine) ice cream are another high point.
