Named after a town famous for its sulphurous hot springs, Sohna Punjab is one of the best northern Indian restaurants in town, though the location near the easternmost verge of Queens may take some planning to get to. All the Mughal standards are faithfully rendered, including a superior version of chicken tikka (anything that comes from the tandoori oven is recommended), lamb stews, vegetarian dishes such a mattar paneer and navratan kurma, with a handful of Indo-Chinese dishes thrown in for good measure. The dining room is opulent and dark, and everyone around you seems to be having a rollicking good time.
