A Taiwanese-American friend from Flushing tipped us on to this spot as the best place for bubble tea, and we happily drank our way through the usual catalog of green and black fruit teas; thick coffee, tea, and fruit smoothies; flavored agar drinks; and shakes with cookies. All can be improved with the addition of the black pearl tapiocas, which slide upward into your mouth via a straw of large diameter. In addition, an extensive Hong Kong-style menu lists dozens of short dishes, dim sum, noodles, soups, congees, and many Anglo-Chinese specialties, including cheese wontons and prawns with mayonnaise.
