Photos of brindle-colored dogs stare down from the walls of this comfy, wood-paneled spot. The menu is composed of simple American plates like roasted beets, roast chicken, baked oysters, chicken fried steak, and chicken liver mousse. You may want to try the duck confit poutine, a crazy mess of soft duck, crisp fries, melty cheese curds, and gravy that tastes of duck fat. Mains are a bit dull, so perhaps it's best to stick with the spreads and appetizers, a pleasant proposition with a glass of wine.
