The Brooklyn Kitchen is about education. On one hand, they’ve got classes on knife skills, sauces, traditional breakfast dishes, and pies. The Williamsburg space even hosts classes in collaboration with several of Brooklyn’s finest culinary institutions, whether it’s a homemade pizza class with Roberta's or a pickling class with McClure's. On the other hand, the Brooklyn Kitchen offers high quality kitchen wares and locally and ethically sourced meats. (The butchers here know their stuff--Tom Mylan, one of four butchers, helped open Marlow and Sons.) They’ve got pork, lamb, and beef, and offer a ridiculous amount of sausages--even a chili cheese-stuffed hot dog. Aside from the stuff you can buy, the butchers are open to any and all questions. --Shane Barnes
