Manhattanites no longer have to cross a bridge to get their fix of Salvatore ricotta, Acme smoked fish, and Mama O's kimchi. Instead, they can head to the Brooklyneer, a new West Village bar and small plates restaurant celebrating the best of the borough beyond the river. Local brews on tap, including Kelso Nut Brown Lager, Coney Island Albino Python, and Sixpoint Brownstone, complement the upscale bar food. The post-work crowd gets noisy and seating fills up quickly, but early diners can easily make a meal of the "Red Hook" sliders stuffed with pulled pork, "Carroll Gardens" meatballs in marinara sauce, and a mouth-puckering pickle plate featuring the best of McClure's and Brooklyn Brine.
