The Hairy Monk - Closed

337 3rd Ave.
New York, NY 10010
It's a Red Sox bar. That's all you need to know about the Hairy Monk. In addition to finding moral support, fans come here in droves to be surrounded by Boston memorabilia: a wall plastered with newspapers highlighting their team's World Series victory, an encased jersey, a huge Sox flag pinned to the ceiling. With 19 beers on tap, mostly derivatives of the Bass and Bud family (with Sam Adams Boston Lager as an obvious choice), the bar's gargantuan Boston pride is represented by its singular mug size: drinks only come in 20 oz servings.
