This new pub-slash-brick oven pizza joint has an immensely appealing neighborhood coziness. Its location, near where Sixth Avenue dead-ends into the Greenwood Cemetery, makes it inconvenient for all but neighborhood folk. But that's key to its charm. British brews like Old Speckled Hen are on draft ($5 a pint), and soccer or baseball is on the television. "Pub red," the house wine, is surprisingly good, and affordable, too. The brick oven flickers warmly, just a few feet from the bar. (One imagines it will be too toasty in the summer, although on a chilly day it was very pleasant.) The menu is simple: pizzas, salads and cold antipasti. The pizzas are small, so allot one per person. The thin crusts sport lovely char marks and are dressed with a sprightly, fresh-tasting tomato sauce. You OCD pizza perfectionists out there should know that heavily topped pies do sag a bit in the middle when the toppings outweigh the delicate crust.
