Tuck Shop is one of the city's burgeoning collection of Australian restaurants, which must number nearly a dozen by now. What's Aussie food? At the top end it's barrimundi (a freshwater fish), shrimp, and barbecue, but the lower end is English-style pies. As you might expect, the crust here is unimpeachable, flaky and flavorful, and it's used to make tubular and round pastries. The three-dollar sausage roll is quite a bargain, and you'll quickly discover that, in contrast to their English brethren, Aussies like it spicy. Round pies are slightly more expensive, and come with such fillings as Guinness-stewed steak, lamb, barbecued pork, and vegetarian chili. Rudimentary sides include potato of the day, coleslaw, and something discouragingly called a "pea soup floater."
