After a hiatus of nearly a year, Turkiss's replaced Yatagan, another Turkish spot that boasted the best lamb doner kebab (a/k/a schwarma, gyro) in the city. While Turkiss' version doesn't scale the vertiginous heights of its predecessor, mystery-meat-wise, it does provide a second twirling cylinder of chicken, in addition to the expected lamb. This allows you to order a combination sandwich of lamb and chicken, also stuffed with a small amount of greenery, and smeared with your choice of yogurt or hot sauce (or both). The mercifully brief menu includes kofta kebabs, two soups, and a handful of salads, which can also be used to make nice vegetarian sandwiches. The interior has been extensively remodeled with more seating.
