Van Cortlandt House Museum

Broadway & Broadway
Bronx, NY 10471

  • Sun,Sat 11am-4pm, Tue-Fri 10am-3pm
This house is the oldest in the Bronx. George Washington stayed here, but what really makes it cool is it was a no-man's-land for much of the war and its residents were often involved in British fake-out plots. It was used as headquarters by both the British and the Americans, depending on who was winning at the time. Hours: Tue-Fri 10am-3pm, Sat & Sun 11am-4pm
