8 Maiden Lane New York, NY 10038 | Financial District | 212-528-4669

Location Description:

The Financial District doesn’t seem like the place to find Lebanese fare on paper plates and bowls, but that’s exactly what Alfanoose is: quickly prepared (and served) middle eastern classics, like housemade hummus and baba ganoush and falafel and everything else that requires a pita as utensil. Particularly great are the meat-centric dishes and kebabs, which put typical food cart sticks-of-meat to shame. The food is fine and reasonably priced, which is all you can hope for from a place without table service or proper plates. This is casual dining at its most casual, and perhaps it’s for that reason that their specialty lies in a quick, easy lunch rather than fancy dinner. --Shane Barnes
