Babouche

Brooklyn, NY 11217
718-636-2100
Named after a type of ornate leather slippers, Babouche is a Moroccan/Mediterranean rim restaurant whose best feature is a sumptuous premises that may remind you of a harem or bathhouse. Bring a couple of friends and try to score the niche table in the rear. The appetizers include exemplary briwats (triangular pastries stuffed with chicken and almonds), a pleasing trio of three composed salads, and boring crab cakes—the promised Moroccan spices went missing. Tajines are the way to go for main courses, especially the one featuring lamb, prunes, and sesame seeds. For now, it's BYOB.
