Center for Performance Research

361 Manhattan Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11211 | Brooklyn | 718-349-1210

Location Description:

It's located in Brooklyn's first L.E.E.D.-certified green building, so you can feel good about that. But there are plenty of other reasons to visit the Center for Performance Research. CPR seeks to support new dancers, choreographers, and performance artists, which there seems to be no shortage of in this chic section of upper Williamsburg. The artist-driven initiative hosts regular shows and workshops while also renting out its two studio spaces. An off-the-beaten path but still conveniently located dance venue, it is a short walk from the Bedford and Lorimer L stops, close to a hyper-abundance of restaurants and bars on Bedford Avenue, and just steps from McCarren Park.

Business Description

CPR is an artist-driven initiative, co-founded by Jonah Bokaer | Chez Bushwick and John Jasperse | Thin Man Dance, Inc. CPR’s mission is to support the development of new works in contemporary dance, performance and related forms, and to promote awareness of and appreciation for contemporary performing arts. CPR is particularly interested in supporting artistic processes that integrate visual design, installation, and technology.
