Dee Thai

Long Island City, NY 11104
718-786-3137
Website
While Siamese restaurants in Woodside, Elmhurst, and Jackson Heights are busy pursuing trendy Isaan fare, Dee Thai is one of a half dozen new ones in Sunnyside and vicinity returning to an old but expanded version of the pan-Thai menu. The premises are much more elegant than they need to be, and the prices a little higher, but the food is generous and well-prepared with all sorts of Chinese-Thai and southern Thai flourishes. An entire stewed pig leg with Thai herbs, served with fluffy steamed buns, was a big hit at our table, and so were the spicy papaya salad, the stir-fried rice noodles called pad cee ew, and the slightly funky sun-dried pork appetizer.
