Dixon Place

161 Chrystie St. New York, NY 10002 | Lower East Side | 212-219-0736

Location Description:

This Obie Award-winning Off-Off-Broadway venue hosts an expansive range of shows. Dixon Place is devoted to presenting exclusively original works of theater, performance art, dance, music, comedy, and literary readings. The Paris salon-inspired space opened in 1985, and is now a leading space for experimental work. It is located close to the ultra-condensed bars, restaurants, and clubs that make for a bustling nightlife scene on the Lower East Side, but it more reflects the 'hood's pre-gentrification spirit and grassroots aesthetics. In addition to the stage, it also features a gallery of rotating artists, and an intimate lounge featuring a full bar and entertainment.
