In the interest of preserving summer fun at Coney Island, the historic amusement park was revived by a Bloomberg commission in 2009. It's home to the iconic 1927 Cyclone roller coaster, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as 19 other thrill rides and family attractions. It's within view of the beach and the boardwalk, and walking distance from the original Nathan's restaurant. Several train lines make their final stops at the close by Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station.
Luna Park is the first new amusement park to be built in Coney Island in over 40 years, complete with brand new rides, roller coasters, games, an Arcade, go-karts, restaurants. food stands and the historic Cyclone Roller Coaster.
