National Underground - Closed

159 E. Houston St. New York, NY 10002 | Lower East Side | 212-475-0611

Location Description:

National Underground is the home-brewed, Southern-themed dive bar and live music venue owned by the DeGraw brothers--one of whom, Gavin is responsible for the One Tree Hill theme song. The low-key live acts booked here reflect the pop-rock, roots-rock, and folk-rock music favored by the brothers themselves. Distortion-fueled acts perform on the "Underground" stage downstairs, while the acoustic singer-songwriters remain upstairs in the bar/restaurant area.
