Prospect Park

95 Prospect Park W. Brooklyn, NY 11215 | Brooklyn | 718-965-8951

Location Description:

There is an idea that Brooklyn is Manhattanas stepsister. All things came to Manhattan first and then filtered into Brooklyn. At half the size of Central Park, Prospect Park was designed at virtually the same time by the same architects based on the same plan. Brooklyn is not Manhattanas stepsister; at one time it was the third-largest city in the nation. Soapbox aside, Prospect Park is less formal-feeling than Central Park. It has plazas and gardens, and places for barbeques and a lovely Japanese Garden and a zoo. It is also free and not hard to get to.
