This closet-size space packs in more snacks than you can well imagine, from nem chua (lozenges of pickled raw pork), to jackfruit chips, to tart and oozy tamarind balls, to miniature butter cookies. The pride of the shop, though, is the banh mi sandwich, carefully assembled from the usual forms of pork (in this case, grainy minced sausage, pig-ear ham, and pale pate), lavished with house-pickled veggies and given a final crisping in the fantastically blackened toaster oven. Alternative sandwich fillings include chicken and canned sardines, but remember that the pork-bearing #1 is one of the very best of its type in town.
