The New French

New York, NY 10014
212-807-7357
The New French is not French, but instead offers a fanciful jumble of dishes that read like a list of international greatest hits. It is vaguely bistro;mussels or burgers with fries, roast chicken, chicken liver pate;and vaguely Asian;vegetable curry, pho;but there are dishes that fall into neither one of those categories. Not every one of the dishes works, but the place's breezy, hodgepodge approach does. That's because the menu items do have something in common; they are all foods that people love to eat. Try the beet salad, the chicken liver pate, the pizza bianca or the roast chicken.
