The Queens Kickshaw

40-17 Broadway Long Island City, NY 11103 | Astoria | 718-777-0913

Location Description:

Late hours. Coffee from Coffee Labs Roasters in Tarrytown, NY. Craft ales. Quality ciders. Fancy grilled cheese and brunch classics assembled by a chef who has labored at a few of NYC's most coveted culinary places (notably Craftbar and Momofuku Noodle Bar). Find all of this in Astoria at the very welcome Queens Kickshaw. It's rare things here are executed poorly. From the expertly pulled shots of espresso and chocolate provided by Mast Brothers to the wild mushroom shepherds pie and manchego/ricotta grilled cheese, all of it's done with the panache usually reserved for a well-invested in Manhattan cafe. The beer is nothing to be scoffed at either, and growlers of kombucha and cider (as well as iced coffee) are available to take home. It's rare to find a cafe with such across-the-board quality, and even more rare to find one that is open until 1 o'clock in the morning. The Queens Kickshaw helps make the case for Astoria as a food destination. --Shane Barnes
