The Village Voice is thrilled to announce that the 4Knots Music Festival will be changing things up in a few big ways for 2015. The music will be raucous and rocking, sure. The breeze will be fantastic, as the festival will still sidle up to the waterfront. But other than that? 4Knots 2015 is set to kick it up a nautical notch starting with a new location and the length of the festivities while giving back to New York City.
4Knots will be moving from the South Street Seaport to Pier 84, where patrons will be able to enjoy not only the music, but gorgeous river views and the greenery of Hudson River Park. 4Knots will also be a ticketed event in 2015, with a portion of the proceeds going to Friends of Hudson River Park. Two tiers of ticket options are available — General Admission tickets (all ages) ($25) and VIP tickets (21+) ($50) — both of which will be available for presale purchase May 6–8. Interested in knocking $5 off admission? Sign up for the Village Voice newsletter in order to score the presale code here.
The music will stretch on longer than it has in previous years, too. Formerly an afternoon affair, 4Knots is set to take place 1 p.m.–10 p.m., rain or shine.
The festival prides itself on presenting audiences with the best up-and-coming artists breaking through the scene today. Past performers have included Dinosaur Jr, Mac DeMarco, Those Darlins, Viet Cong, Speedy Ortiz, Dead Stars, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Parquet Courts, the Black Angels, the Drums, Dan Deacon, Oberhofer, Titus Andronicus, Crocodiles, Nick Waterhouse, Bleached, Archers of Loaf, Delicate Steve, Hospitality, Eleanor Friedberger, Team Spirit, and more.
We'll be rolling out the lineup in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, get down the incidentals and take advantage of early-bird ticket prices while you can. Stay tuned to Sound of the City for more information on 4Knots 2015. We'll see you on Pier 84.
