50 Cent Finally Holds Elaborately Feared Queens Block Party
50 Cent got a quiet sort of revenge against Mayor Bloomberg and the city on Saturday, when he played a community festival that was essentially the same event Bloomberg shot down back in August. At the time, Bloomberg cited a series of alarmist and badly sourced New York Post articles that alleged Queens kids and grandmothers would be slain in a hail of bullets should the Jamaica, Queens concert go off as planned. "You might as well come down and party with us, because we're not going to be doing anything else," 50 told the cops that assembled around his successful second try, adding: "Next year I'm gonna get to do it on the actual date that I want, when they see this as a successful event they won't give me such a hard time next time." Some advice, based on the video evidence: Leave the masked goons at home in 2010, Curtis.
