Download: Holly Miranda Tears Up Etta James' "I'd Rather Go Blind" At Bowery Ballroom

The mighty NYC Taper was present at Brooklyn dream-pop ingenue (and expert record-sneaker) Holly Miranda's pretty fantastic Wednesday-night Bowery Ballroom show, and was kind enough to pass along an MP3 of the set's highlight, a blistering, stupendous cover of the Etta James standard "I'd Rather Go Blind."
Listen/download right here; should that whet your appetite, NYT Taper's got the whole set up, including Yoko Ono's "No One Can See Me Like You Do" and several vastly improved (louder, harder, surlier) cuts from Miranda's new record, The Magician's Private Library. Kyp Malone and a horn section show up, too. This show was pretty awesome.
