Drake's Thank Me Later Goes Platinum
According to Drake, anyway. In reality, he seems stuck around the 850,000 mark--close, maybe even inevitably close, but not there yet. Should he finally limp across that line (at the rate he's selling, it'll take another three weeks), he'll be just the second rapper--after Eminem--to sell a million copies of anything in 2010. In light of the crop of indie-rock sales numbers Matthew Perpetua posts today--LCD Soundsystem's This Is Happening (70,126); Vampire Weekend's Contra (371,000); Surfer Blood's Astro Coast (32,000)--that's still a hell of an achievement, even if it's not quite the one he says it is.
