I Don't Go Clubbing, I Go Dancing: The Weekend In Nightlife, Starring Kid Sister, Mark Farina, And The Mutek Festival

Tonight a mix of electro and hip-hop pervades Webster Hall's "Girls & Boys," a party with more teenagers and neon than... not. The pairing of U.K.-born dubstep darling Rusko and Chicago hip-hop queen Kid Sister might seem strange at first, but just go with it. (Or, take a listen to Rusko's official remix of Kid Sister's most popular hit, "Pro Nails," and become a believer.). As always, be prepared to shove your way through mounds of overzealous fans -- no pain, no gain on this one. Tickets are $15 here, more at the door.

Want techno? Head to Public Assembly in Williamsburg for the Bunker, as they host a preview of the 11th anniversary of the Canadian-born Mutek Fest. Minimal house producer Akufen is best known for working tiny samples, blips, and bleeps from the radio into his production -- he headlines this two-room electronic massive. The eight-hour event also features Berlin's Efdemin and Cheap & Deep, along with local Bunker resident Derek Plaslaiko. The party doesn't stop until 6 a.m. (though the bar will close at 4). Tickets are $10 at the door before midnight, $20 after.

On Saturday, San Franciscan house legend Mark Farina headlines Sullivan Room's cave-like dance party. The DJ is most well known for his tendency to drop hip-hop classics amid disco favorites; his self-dubbed style of "Mushroom Jazz" (part jazz, part house, part soulful hip-hop beats) became his trademark, and later a mixtape series. Basic NYC residents Sleepy & Boo are also on the bill, and the party goes until 5 a.m. At the very least, stumble through on your way home. Tickets are $20 online  -- try your luck after 3 a.m. for free entry, seeing as there was no cashier the last time we stopped in.

If you're looking for hip-hop, head to Brooklyn Bowl for the I Tickets are $5 at the door. If you're looking to wear your backpacks to a show, head to the Fillmore for Lupe Fiasco.
