Fresh off their miraculous return to New York City, Insane Clown Posse are already gearing up for this summer's 12th annual Gathering of the Juggalos. "We're gonna outdo last year," threatened Violent J when we spoke with him recently. "We're gonna do it bigger and better."
How do the two rapping-clowns-cum-movie-critics plan to make four days of testicle-stapling, bonfire-building, green-crack-selling, Tila-Tequila-stoning, Tom-Green-dancing, Method-Man-attacking, butt-nut-slut-joking, Vanilla-Icing, Ferris-Wheel-spinning, helicopter-riding, Ron-Jeremy-haunting better? Good question. So we asked.
The notorious Gathering of the Juggalos infomercial will be up earlier. "We're gonna have the infomercial up hopefully at least two months out," promises Violent J. Mark your calendar, Gabe Videogum.
More Gathering of the Juggalos advertising (?). "I was in an airplane the other day, and I was flipping through Rolling Stone and they had the Bonnaroo ad where they had every band listed," recalls J. "I sat there and thought, 'How do these guys have everybody booked, already, in advance?' I brought it up at meeting and they were like, 'Oh, those guys got sponsors, they're being sponsored by Coca-Cola and they've got all that money.' That made me feel a little bit better, but that made me want to get organized quicker so we could advertise." Yes, Psychopathic Records has meetings.

This year's Gathering of the Juggalos theme is "new." "We have our favorites that we use every year that the Juggalos love--like the Tech N9nes and the Kottonmouth Kings--but as far as outsiders? We're going for all new this year. All new."
That maybe even possibly maybe includes Ass Dan. "I'm gonna try," Violent J says about recurring SNL character/Juggalo spoof on South Park's Kenny. "I think people would go crazy." Ass Dan actor Bobby Moynihan was at ICP's recent Gramercy Theatre show, semi-incognito.
Charlie Sheen, maybe? "That'd be super fresh," says J. "That's one of those situations where I don't know how good it would turn out or not, but I know everybody would want to see what happens." In fact they're already on it. "We had a meeting the other day and we were trying to look it up, our options, and different ways to go about it. We are all about trying to get Charlie Sheen."
ICP will pay a "really big band" as much as $200k to perform for the Juggalos. "There's the bands we get that are big huge bands, and then there are the other level bands--like the Rob Zombies, the Marilyn Mansons, the Korns--you know, where they go in the $150,000 or $200,000 price range," says Violent J. "We decided that we're gonna try to bring a really big group in this year. We don't know who yet, but we got some possibilities, and we're going to try to really up the ante and step it up this year and bring a huge group and maybe have them try and fly in Friday night."
That's 13 weeks away. Exciting news, especially if it's your belated honeymoon.
