Instant Co-Sign: Ted Leo Covering Tears For Fears' "Everybody Wants To Rule The World"
So The Onion's got this elaborate scheme where they get 25 bands to cover 25 specific songs, their pick, first come first served, introduced by Onion staffers casually holding Starbucks cups, with the poor 25th band stuck with whatever's left. Ted Leo bats leadoff and selects, wisely as always, Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," and kills it. (This tune figured into their karaoke adventure at the Knitting Factory last week, but this is way, way preferable.)
