Lauryn Hill Is Playing The Blue Note January 3-5, Tickets On Sale Today
Here comes Lauryn Hill again, everyone -- after gracing us with her presence at August's Rock the Bells retro hip-hop spectacular at Governors Island (which was either a total disaster or a fount of "majestic retro-future space-metal," depending on your inclinations), she's suddenly playing a mess of NYC dates in the next several weeks -- to her gigs Dec. 28 at Music Hall of Williamsburg and Jan. 1 at Bowery Ballroom, you can now add three dates at an even more intimate venue.
Yes, at noon tix are on sale for Lauryn Hill at the Blue Note, January 3-5, a pretty stupendous venue for her, though you'll pay for the privilege -- they appear to be $95 for the bar, $125 for a table seat. They ain't gonna last.
It is hopefully not necessary at this point to remind you that Ms. Hill remains a stupendously volatile and polarizing figure, and you should prepare yourself for anything/everything. (Though, given the Blue Note's sterling reputation and efficiency, she will most likely show up, and start pretty much on time. Most likely.) Could be disastrous, could be transcendent. Hell of a way to start 2011, one way or the other.
