The Internet Ruins Everything: Williamsburg-Hater Jay Mundy, High on Viral Video Power, Strikes Out
Jay Mundy, the conservative talk radio host who increasingly seems to be somebody's very well executed prank, took a few laps around the internet earlier in June when his hilarious tirade about a trip he went on to the "official hipster neighborhood of the United States of America," a/k/a Williamsburg, went viral. And though his rant focused primarily on integrity and honor and the lack thereof in "left-wing, carefree people," it's pretty much Mundy who's now been revealed as a guy who will chase controversy and a bit of online tittering as far as he can push it.
On Friday, Mundy returned to the Williamsburg well, limping through a transparently scripted tirade about the neighborhood and its residents--"They don't have religion, they worship themselves. They're disgusting humanists. In between them passing the bong, they pass each other on the back." That was pretty much as good as it got. And though it's sort of funny when he directly addresses his "hundreds of thousands of listeners around the country," our guess is most of the few hundred people who actually do listen to him tuned out somewhere around the part he started talking about watching Sex and the City because "if you're with a girl, you gotta." Or the part where he tried to rename hipsters "fraudsters." Look in the mirror, Jay!
