In the week we threw up our hands and named all seven days after Pavement, we celebrated at the now-reunited and finally in New York band's first show at the Williamsburg Waterfront, pitied the plight of scalpers trying to get rid of their tickets, hung out with Bob Nastanovich, nearly got struck by lightning in Central Park, and nominated five songs for the band to pull out tonight, their last night in town. Goodbye Pavement week!

And welcome M.I.A. week! At some as yet indeterminate date, that is! Looks like this guy isn't gonna get a chance to protest after all.

Sufjan Stevens and Asthmatic Kitty take on Amazon, bootleggers, and you, maybe. Williamsburg record store Sound Fix offers itself up for sale on Craigslist. Das Racist graciously accept their Best New Music tag from Pitchfork. The Shank lives. And we list Glee's ten most cringe-worthy rap moments.

Brooklyn disco outfit Escort explain where they've been for the last three years. White Hills talk their skuzzy "Three Quarters." And Marc Ribot tells us about his most memorable shows, in New York and elsewhere.

Merzbow brutalized the Issue Project Room. Laurie Anderson taught public speaking at BAM. We staged a battle of rooftop parties, pitting Rivington against the Standard. And Of Montreal, Janelle Monae, and a pair of manpigs took over Terminal 5.

Plus the top seven most surprising revelations from Jay-Z's roundtable conversation with Warren Buffett and Steve Forbes, CMJ's 2010 Marathon slate, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs played an anniversary show at Secret Project Robot, and 50 Cent some Twitter-related adventures. Looking for something to do this weekend? Consult our nightlife guide, featuring Vitalic, Escort, DâM-FunK, and DJ Eli and Lloydski. We're back on Monday, or even sooner, depending on Kanye.
