XXL's Byron Crawford Weighs in on "Tight Clothes" Debate
Arcynta Ali Childs' recent Voice piece on Brooklyn rap crew Thug Slaughter Force's maybe-homophobic "No Tight Clothes" campaign has inspired much discourse, and now the great XXL columnist Byron Crawford has weighed in, dismissing "the gay-ass Village Voice" and generally siding with TSF aesthetically, if not musically—at least we can agree that the song "No Tight Clothes," as appended above, is terrible. (His theory that it's terrible on purpose as a social commentary on terrible rap music is intriguing.) Probably the strangest thing about this video, actually, is that the Batman-esque sound effects that accompany thrown punches are "MING!" and "MOW!" Sounds gay to me.
