15th New York Swine Flu Victim, 11, Identified
After a series of anonymous swine flu victims were announced, the Daily News has revealed that one of them was Sarah Michel, 11-year-old sixth-grader at Intermediate School 609, aka Urban Assembly School for Criminal Justice (pictured), an all-girls magnet school in Brooklyn. She reportedly was out sick for a week, briefly came back to school wearing a face mask, and died Sunday night. An autopsy revealed she had swine flu. The "underlying" conditions suspected in this case are a heart defect and obesity. New York now has 15 reported swine flu deaths. All city schools are open and operating normally.
