Ha. A search on Google Trends shows that the 19th Amendment is being searched more than any other term right now. That's because it's the 19th Amendment's 90th birthday! And people don't remember what it is. Though...how would they know it's the 19th Amendment's birthday?

They could read the Washington Post blogs and find a roundup of 19th Amendment related news. Or they might have just paid really, really close attention in high school! The likely theory, however?

If you go to Google's homepage, you'll see this:

The next question, obviously, is if this post is a shameless traffic ploy. We plead the 5th! [That's a Bill of Rights joke, Jakarta. By the way, welcome to The Village Voice, America's oldest Alternative Weekly Newspaper.] For the record, the 19th Amendment was ratified under the presidential administration of President Woodrow Wilson on August 18, 1920. It reads:

Upcoming Events

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

Meanwhile, the "End Women's Suffrage" joke never gets old, because there is never not a healthy supply of people who didn't pay attention in U.S. History.
