2006 Slayer of Pawn Shop Owner Gets 25 to Life
On January 19 of 2006, a jury found in June, Demetrious Greene went into the Rich-Atlantic Gold and Silver Exchange on Atlantic Avenue and. pretending at first to want to pawn some earrings, robbed the store and shot the owner, Richard Schoenfeld, to death. Schoenfeld was described by neighbors as a pleasant man who "generally carried a large sum of money on him," which news may have reached Greene. The cops caught Greene in March and yesterday he was sentenced to 25 years to life.
