6-Days-After-Labor Day Parade Planned
With all the attention going to yesterday's West Indian American Day Parade, you might have wondered: what about the Labor Day Parade? That's not till next Saturday, says its controlling organization, the New York City Central Labor Council. It will run up Fifth Avenue from 44th to 72nd Street.
There was another high-intensity civic fete this weekend: the Gerritsen Beach Canal Party, which GerritsenBeach.net said went over so well that "we don't know what time we got home." It had water tube races, a swimming race, and, the photo page indicates, lots of happy, wet children.
