AIG vs. Congress, Round 2: Liddy to Ask for Some Bonus Bucks Back
They've resumed the AIG hearings on the Hill, and they're going pretty much as they did this morning, with some small changes in tactics -- apparently the Republicans are beating up Chris Dodd as well as Geithner now -- and the announcement by AIG's Liddy that he's asking his employees to return "half or more" of their bonuses, and that some of them have done so already -- which strongly conflicts with their reported behavior when they were asked for a giveback last year. Over at the White House, Obama is trying to make some lemonade out of all this by asking Congress to pass new legislation to give the government more authority over companies they've bailed out.
