America New York is Back!
This is from a release we received this morning from the New York State Department of Labor:
"As the current economic crisis continues to negatively affect both workers and businesses, the State Labor Department today announced some good news for the Western New York economy. Since Extended Unemployment Compensation (EUC) was enacted by the federal government this past summer, 10,532 workers in Western New York have collectively been paid more than $27.6 million in EUC benefits. Statewide, 162,662 workers have received more than $500 million in EUC."
You know things have really begun to suck when the Labor Department brags about how many unemployment checks are going out. It's like HUD bragging that the shelters are really packing 'em in.
