Another Suspected Swine Flu Death in Queens; More Schools Close
Try not to PANIC, but New York may have experienced yet another swine flu death. A 16-month-old with flu-like symptoms died last night in Queens. His parents come from Mexico, but say they haven't been back there in years. The city department of health is investigating. Meanwhile the department of corrections confirms "at least several" swine flu cases at Rikers. There are now 19 city schools closed due to high incidence of flu symptoms, though Intermediate School 238, where the recently deceased swine flu casualty Mitchell Wiener worked, is the only one of them where swine flu has been confirmed. The U.S. now has 5,123 cases of swine flu confirmed, with five related deaths.
