Architect He Gin Lee To Announce His Mayoral Campaign Today
It sounds like a background tale akin to that of John Catsimatidis: "He Gin Lee represents the realization of the "American Dream." Like many New Yorkers, He Gin immigrated to this country many years ago with dreams and aspirations. With hard work and dedication, he was able to reach his goals."
That passage is from the 'About Me' section of Lee's website. The South Korean native from Flushing is the owner of He Gin Lee Architects, a firm that has built hundreds of buildings across the five boroughs.
In 2009, Lee ran for mayor but didn't make it onto the ballot. This afternoon at 2pm, the Democrat will begin his second attempt as he declares his candidacy for City Hall at its steps. He'll be joining a roster in disarray, as each candidate dukes it out for the frontrunner spot with the ever-looming threat of an entry by Anthony Weiner.
Even if the race is pretty much full to capacity, Lee's entry doesn't pose a major threat to anyone's standing. Unfortunately for him, he barely has name recognition and nowhere near the fundraising of, say, Christine Quinn, who's already raised millions for an election. But, still, welcome to the monkey house, Lee; we're happy to have you.

He Gin Lee will announce his Democratic bid for mayor at New York City Hall this Friday, April 26th at 2:00p.m. This will be his first bid for political office since 2009 when he last tried to run for NYC mayor. He is eager to join the mayoral race.
He Gin Lee has been a prominent businessman in New York City for over thirty years. His hard work and dedication have garnered praise and recognition from his clients as well as the news media such as The New York Times and the New York Daily News.
His architectural designs include religious, commercial and residential properties. He has received an award for architect of the year in 2003 and 2004.However, he wasn't satisfied. His love for the city and passion to help his community, have motivated him to run for NYC mayor.
Through his dealings with his architectural business, he's learned everything he needs to know about city government. The most important thing he's realized is that New York City is suffering in many ways. He will address some of his concerns and policies at his announcement this Friday.
This will be a great opportunity to meet and learn more about He Gin Lee.
