ATM-Killing Cadillac And Crew Believed Responsible For Nine Thefts
Remember those Cadillac-driving bandits smashing open street ATM machines in lower Manhattan?
Well, thanks to the NYPD press office, we now have the total number of thefts. In all, since Jan. 23, our bandits have hit nine street ATMs, eight of them in lower Manhattan and one in midtown. Nine!
The NYPD has officially classified it as a pattern. Manhattan South detectives are investigating.
An interesting detail: these guys don't just strike in the wee hours. On Feb. 5, they hit an ATM at 1 p.m. And on Feb. 22, they hit one at 279 Grand St. at 5:30 p.m., just in time for rush hour!

Could it be more than one crew? "Possible, but not likely," says a police source.
For the record, they drive a black 1987-1991 Cadillac Brougham. We were told initially that they simply smashed the car into the machine, cracking it open. Yesterday, we were told they attach a chain to the machine use the car to pull it open.
Here are the details on each incident (We don't know how much money they've seized, except they got $13,200 in the most recent one.)
