B, D, F, V Lines Screwed Up by Fire
A fire at a substation has interfered with service on the 6th Avenue subway lines. The V is out, F is running on the G line between 36th Street Queens and Bergen Street in Brooklyn, and the B is running on the A line between 59 Street and West 4th Street in Manhattan. Also, the southbound D is running on the N tracks between 36th Street Brooklyn and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. These conditions are expected to persist until 3 p.m. at least.
Also, drivers note: a missing manhole cover has closed Seventh Avenue traffic in both directions at West 53rd Street until the condition can be remedied.
Update: The problem is reported solved and transferred to the Lexington Avenue line.
