Baby Drowns In Brooklyn Toilet While Visiting Family For Jewish Holiday
An Upstate family is grieving after a 1-year-old boy was found drowned to death in a Brooklyn toilet last night.
Making the story even more heartbreaking is the fact that the boy and his family were visiting relatives in Brooklyn to celebrate the Jewish new year at the time of tragedy.
According to authorities, the boy, identified as Mendi Altman, and his family -- in town from Monsey in Rockland County -- were visiting relatives in Borough Park to celebrate Rosh Hashanah.
About 11 p.m. yesterday, the baby's 13-year-old cousin found him in a toilet in his aunt's 11th Avenue apartment.
