Backlash Allows Us to Post Sorta-Funny Prop 8 Video
When this Funny or Die video of "Prop 8: The Musical" first appeared, distinguished by the presence of many celebrities, we weren't so wowed, nor so secure in our cultural cred, that we would post it. Now it's news, so there's no holding back. Joe My God tips us that the Christian Anti-Defamation League is demanding an apology from actor Jack Black for his light-hearted portrayal of the Prince of Peace. "Appearing as a sarcastic, rotund Christ," says CADC spokes-scold Gary Cass, "Black distorts the Bible and condones shameful, homosexual acts." Sometimes we think the League is a front group for blasphemous entertainers; hell, they even provide a link to the video so outraged Christians can watch it. That's the great thing about PR -- you do it right, and everybody wins.
