Bad Facebook Puns Plague The Social Network Box Office Headlines
Everyone who's anyone saw The Social Network on its opening weekend, including the staff of Facebook and presumably its founder, Mark Zuckerberg. Today, preliminary estimates put the movie's pull at $23 million for its opening weekend, a respectable, if not extraordinary showing, but more than enough for the number one spot. Second place went to Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole with $10.9 million. So while we're spared the "'OWLS' Fly Away With It" headlines, we're instead tortured with Facebook puns. A lot of them.
They are, unfortunately, not too funny or creative. But maybe they represent the public's (or newspaper/blog editors'?) base understanding of the social network. Here's the rundown so far...
