Barack Obama Holds "Slurpee Summit"; Google Investigated for Antitrust; Rock Center Xmas Tree Lights Up

• President Obama will meet with congressional leaders from both parties today -- a/k/a, the "Slurpee summit," actual Slurpees TBD -- to discuss a number of issues, including the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty and tax cuts. Can some ice shavings and food coloring bring peace to this nation divided? We don't know, but we'll take a blue raspberry. [CNN]

• Consumers did pretty well this Cyber Monday, spending 20% more than they did the year before. Sales from Thanksgiving day through Sunday were up 15% over the prior year, according to the National Retail Foundation. Recession, what? [PFB]

• The House of Representatives is expected to vote as early as today on disciplinary action against Rep. Charles Rangel for ethics violations. Rangel faces a vote on censure, although he is asking that he get a reprimand instead. Cue: "You Can't Always Get What You Want." [NBC NY]

• Sorta/kinda/maybe-evil Google is being investigated by the E.U. for antitrust violations. [NYT]

• A 15-year-old boy took 24 people (students and a teacher) hostage at his school in Marinette, Wisconsin, for about five hours on Monday night, where the kids talked about "hunting, fishing, music and movies." When authorities entered the room, the gunman shot himself. He was the only one injured and has been taken to the hospital, where his condition is currently unknown. [GBPG]
