BREAKING: Comptroller Candidate Kristin Davis Arrested For Selling Prescription Drugs
Kristin Davis, the Manhattan Madam-turned-very dark horse Comptroller candidate, has been arrested on charges of selling prescription drugs. Davis was taken into custody today in Manhattan by the FBI. Among the drugs she is accused of peddling are oxycodone, Ambien, and amphetamine, the active ingredient in Adderall.
According to a statement released by the FBI, Davis was brought down in a sting operation for selling pills. "Kristin Davis sold prescription pills not once, but rather four different times in four months to an FBI cooperating witness," said FBI Assistant Director George Venizelos.
At the time of her arrest Davis was fielding a run for New York City Comptroller as the Personal Freedom Party Candidate. No word yet if she plans to drop out of the race.
Davis is charged with four counts of distributing and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, meaning a total of up to 80 years in prison if convicted. She is scheduled to appear in federal court in Manhattan later this afternoon.
Below is the criminal complaint filed by the Department of Justice against Davis. Runnin' Scared will update as more information becomes available.
